Designing a sound system around the space
Sound behaves differently in a reverberant restaurant, a high-ceilinged hall and a series of connected retail areas. We consider room shape, surfaces, ambient noise, listener positions and the intended programme before choosing speaker types and locations.
Background music and zoned audio
For hospitality and commercial spaces, separate zones can let staff adjust music levels independently in areas such as reception, dining, bar and circulation spaces. The number of zones and control method depend on the venue and operating needs.
Speech and public address
Where announcements matter, intelligibility takes priority over simply making the system loud. Speaker placement, room acoustics, microphone choice and the location of controls all affect how well announcements can be understood.
Existing equipment and upgrades
